Beckford Women’s Institute
Beckford WI was formed in February 1922 which means we are in our 99th year.
Who are we and what do we do?
We have around 30 members of all ages who usually meet once a month in Beckford Village Hall, on the second Monday of the month. Our activities range from crafts to walks, talks and trips and discussions on more serious subjects affecting women.
The CoVid situation
Our past year has been a test of our friendship but with Zoom online meetings, buddy groups, WhatsApp, Facebook and a few walks, we have managed to keep in touch with our membership and we approach 2021 smiling and full of hope.
Our programme for 2022 will have plenty of variety, guaranteed to spark interest. If you would like to come along you can be assured of a warm welcome. . Many extra exciting events are being planned for 2022, our 100th year, when we will hopefully be able to meet free of CoVid restrictions. We are working on a large hanging quilt of Beckford Scenes and a booklet of local walks. Our next planned meeting is in early July 2021 for a social get-together.
Make new friends and join in the fun!
