Our membership of around 30 ladies meets monthly in Beckford
Village Hall on the second Monday of the month, starting at 7.30. We
usually enjoy a speaker perhaps with a slide show, followed by
refreshments, ending at about 9.30pm.
Other activities include crafts, walks, coffee mornings, a book group
and trips out to gardens, theatres and much more. We get involved in
quizzes, Beckford Open Village, competitions, craft courses at WI
House in Gloucester and community & craft projects.
During the last year one of our proudest moments was the hanging of
a Poppy Cascade from the Bell Tower of Beckford Church. This took
us and our friends many hours to knit and crochet and we managed to
make 1360 poppies which had to be stitched to netting. It looked
fabulous and our sponsors, the Royal British Legion and Beckford
Open Village group were incredibly impressed

crafts and celebrations.
